Grand Hyatt Vail

Grand Hyatt Vail

A Day in Vail: Creekside Living at Grand Hyatt Vail

Set slightly away from the centre of Vail, in Cascade Village, Grand Hyatt Vail offers a different way to experience the mountain.

The hotel sits directly along Gore Creek, with its own private chairlift (Chair 20) just steps from the ski valet. This means your day starts without navigating Vail Village or Lionshead. You step out, click in, and are on the mountain within minutes.

From there, the entire Vail network opens up. Wide groomers off Mid-Vail, the long fall lines of Avanti and Riva Ridge, and for those looking to explore further, the legendary Back Bowls and Blue Sky Basin.

As part of the Epic Pass, it is a destination that rewards longer stays and multi-resort itineraries, often paired with Beaver Creek just down the valley.

The morning here is about getting ahead of the flow.

Our team typically recommends heading straight up toward Mid-Vail, then working your way into the Back Bowls. On a clear day, skiing through Sun Down Bowl or China Bowl is one of those moments that defines Vail, wide open terrain, consistent snow and a sense of scale that is hard to match.

By late morning, it is worth slowing the pace.

Lunch might be on the mountain, but returning to Grand Hyatt is part of what makes staying here work so well. The setting along the creek creates a noticeably quieter atmosphere than the main villages, and it is easy to reset before heading back out.

Afternoons in Vail can go in a few directions.

You can stay high and continue exploring the bowls, or work your way back down toward the front side, finishing with long cruisers into Lionshead or Vail Village. From there, the hotel shuttle or a short transfer brings you back to Cascade Village.

Or, on certain days, we suggest finishing earlier and leaning into what the hotel does particularly well. At Grand Hyatt Vail, the experience off the mountain is just as considered.

The creekside infinity pool and hot tubs sit right beside Gore Creek, offering a setting that feels more private and immersed in nature than most properties in Vail.

Dining is a highlight of any stay at Grand Hyatt Vail

Makoto Vail is one of the standout additions to the resort, bringing modern Japanese dining into the mountains with a level of precision and quality that feels genuinely elevated. It is a place we actively recommend booking in advance.

For something more relaxed, Gessner focuses on Rocky Mountain cuisine, while the Fireside Lounge becomes a natural gathering point for après, particularly with its creekside setting and regular live music programming

With 285 rooms, suites and private residences, there is flexibility for couples, families and groups, all supported by thoughtful details such as ski valet, on-site lift ticketing and easy access to both Vail villages when needed

For the 2026/27 season, early booking is key.

Guests can access 20% off stays when booked by June 1, 2026, valid across the full winter season with no blackout dates

Through Mogul Ski World, bookings also include daily breakfast for two, a $100 USD resort credit, and the opportunity for room upgrades on arrival.

Grand Hyatt Vail suits travellers who want full access to the scale of Vail, without needing to stay in the centre of it.

Direct lift access, a quieter setting, and a strong food and wellness offering create a stay that feels balanced from first run to last.
