Snowpine Lodge, Alta

Alta’s Slopeside Classic: Snowpine Lodge for 2026/27

There is something about Alta that feels different from the moment you arrive.

Tucked high in Utah’s Little Cottonwood Canyon, just 45 minutes from Salt Lake City, it offers a rare balance. A sense of remoteness and immersion in the mountains, paired with remarkably easy access from a major international gateway.

This is also where Utah’s claim to The Greatest Snow on Earth® is most evident. The combination of elevation, lake-effect storms and dry desert air produces snow that is lighter, softer and widely regarded as some of the best in the world.

Set slopeside in the heart of it all, Snowpine Lodge captures that experience perfectly, and for the 2026/27 season it is firmly on the radar for travellers looking to experience Alta at its best.

Snowpine’s story is part of what makes it so compelling. One of the original buildings in Albion Basin, it once served as a general store and post office before becoming a skier lodge in 1938. Today, it has been reimagined as a 54-room boutique hotel, combining its heritage with a more contemporary alpine feel.

What has not changed is its position. Located directly on the slopes of Alta Ski Area, Snowpine offers immediate access to one of North America’s most snow-reliable mountains. You can step out in the morning and be on the lift within minutes, ski or ride back for lunch, then head out again without needing to think about logistics.

Inside, the atmosphere is warm and understated. This is not a large resort hotel. It is a more intimate lodge experience, which suits Alta’s character. Evenings tend to revolve around simple pleasures. A drink by the fire, time in the spa, and a slower pace after a full day on the mountain.

Booking Early for 2026/27

Snowpine Lodge is already seeing strong demand for the upcoming season, particularly from travellers planning multi-resort Utah itineraries.

The Stay Longer and Save offer provides up to 20% off when booking 7 nights or more, valid for stays between November 15, 2026 and April 30, 2027

For those booking during the key Snow Travel Expo period, there is also an added incentive.

Guests who secure their stay through the Snow Holiday Launchpad or in person at the Snow Travel Expos will receive a complimentary room upgrade.

Bookings also include added benefits through Mogul Ski World, including daily breakfast for two, a welcome amenity on arrival, and early check-in and late check-out where available.

Snowpine Lodge works best as part of a broader Utah journey. Many of our clients begin in Park City or Deer Valley, then finish here in Alta, where the focus shifts fully to the mountain.

For 2026/27, that contrast is exactly what makes the destination so rewarding.
